Walk in love

“But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”

(1Jn 3:17)

Apostle James in James 2:15-17 gives a very interesting point of view.

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”

Read through again and think very carefully. When someone comes to you with a problem, do you say: ‘it is well,’ give them a pat on the back and send them on their way? You must learn to love your neighbour as yourself. That is the nature of a Christian. Your revelation of Christ’s sacrifice should not only culminate in thanksgiving, but in your love for others as well.

What can you do to show love to others in this New Year? The lady Tabitha was such a blessing that when she died widows cried because of all she had done for them. Whose life are you impacting? Who are you showing love to? Not just in words, but in actions.
