Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. (2Peter 1:12)

As believers, we must be a people who are knowledgeable in the things of God, and that includes in the place of prayer. We can’t know God any more than we know His Word, neither can we love God any more than we love His Word.

1 John 5:14 says And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his WILL, he heareth us:

Because we are a people with knowledge, it is important that what we say or sing in the place of prayer shows that. Don’t spend your time wishing or saying words of condemnation. Say words that are consistent with His word and your nature in Christ.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

An understanding of the fact that our feelings are not a reliable determinant for the state of our souls is very vital. The Word of God is the only reliable source.

Your conviction should always influence your words and actions. This is God’s will for our lives. This is why His word was given to us.

Equip yourself with the word today and allow it influence how you pray.
