“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3: 16.

Imagine that a woman caught right in the act of adultery was brought to Jesus.

What would you have imagined he would do? Well John 8:3-5, describes that the Scribes and Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery to Jesus.

Under the law, such a woman should have been stoned. What was Jesus going to say?  He said, “…He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her” (John 8:7).

There is a vital lesson here. Based on performance, we are all guilty. Some suppose they are more righteous than others by performance, but we all fall short.

But that’s not the only lesson. Not only did the Pharisees and Scribes not have the authority to judge, the one person who had the right to do so did not judge her.

The bible says, “When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” (John 8: 10).

‘Neither do I condemn you?’ Did we just read that? Again, the Lord emphasizes faith for salvation: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).

Friends, people who place their trust in Jesus will not be condemned.
