“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.
Stop and think about today’s text. Jesus wasn’t advising us to try to ensure that signs follow us. He assured us, as a statement of fact, that they will.
The man in Christ can be marked by signs and wonders. All who will walk in the Spirit will see signs.
As a fulfilment of this prophecy, as soon as the Holy Ghost came on the Apostles, their cover was blown!
They could no longer hide in the upper room where they had been because the attention of a multitude was drawn to them as they spoke in tongues.
The words of Jesus are clear: “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden”
He says there’s no hiding place for us. How can there be, when the casting of your mere shadow on the sick leaves them healed? (Acts 5:15).
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
The above scripture is not a prayer point. It’s a statement of fact. It’s a promise. Believe it!
As you proclaim the message of Christ, in your offices, schools, etc, the Lord will work with you, confirming your words with signs following (Mark 16:20).
Go out today and watch God work in, with and through you.
As I preach the gospel today, signs follow me. I cast out devils, and I heal the sick, by the power of God at work in me. Hallelujah!
