“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood”

(Revelation 1:5).

God didn’t force Jesus to die for you. Jesus had a choice! He chose to die for us and the Father was pleased. He willingly surrendered to the Father’s will. Jesus said: “Therefore doth my father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my father” (John 10:17-18)

Jesus Himself loves you! The bible says that He “loved us, and washed us from our sin in His own blood” (Revelation 1:5b). What Jesus did for you and I is personal. Jesus wasn’t compelled by the Father against His own will. Jesus Himself loves you.

He left His glory, took on the frailty of humanity: He could feel hunger, tiredness and yes – pain! He felt every whip from the Roman soldiers. He felt unbearable pain as the nails were driven into His hands and feet. It was no small deal that the spear was thrust into His side. He knew He would have to suffer to make you free, yet He took the offer! He lived, loved, and died! And of course, He rose again. Halleluyah!

Spend some time worshiping Jesus today, for demonstrating His love by dying for you.
