“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”
In virtually every book in the bible, persecution is seen. Take few minutes to read through the following texts: Romans 8:17-18, 2 Corinthians 1:5, Galatians 5:11, Philippians 1:29, 3:10, Colossians 1: 24, 1 Thessalonians 3: 4, 2 Timothy 3: 12. This is no side talk!”
Paul says in Philippians 1:29: “For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.” People who haven’t read their bibles carefully might be tempted to think that Christians who have been killed for their faith were somehow not in the will of God. This is far from the truth.
Jesus spoke clearly about this saying: “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” (John 15:19). If you ever get confronted for preaching the gospel, no matter how small or big the confrontation is, the Lord calls you blessed. Recognize how privileged you are to share His message in a hostile world.
Stay resolute! Declare like Paul the Apostle “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35-38).
Pray for Christians all around the world being persecuted for their faith. Pray that they be delivered from wicked and unreasonable men. And that they receive boldness to declare their faith even more.
