“Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law” (Rom 3:27.28)

Many people disagree with the grace message because they believe obeying the Ten Commandments and the laws of Moses can earn them eternal life. But it is not a ‘way’ at all. Jesus is the only way, and we can only accept him by grace(John 14:6).

Also, the bible says that everyone under the law is under a curse. If you are in doubt, see Galatians 3:10-11: “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.”

Here, Paul refers to Deutronomy 27: 26a which says: ‘‘Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them.’’

So what is the curse of the law? It is the fact that whilst the person who is under the law must do everything the law commands, his efforts are futile because he does not have the power to do so. The law demands from you what you cannot give.

The Israelites had more than enough time to prove this feat impossible for any man. Time after time, they failed in all these. It did not matter whether one person kept all and failed in one or vice versa, the curse was on everyone equally.

For salvation, we don’t look to the law, but to Christ. Gal 3:13 says: “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

SAY THIS: The law cannot save me. I am saved by grace through faith in the name of Jesus.
