“From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love” (Eph_4:16).
If you’ve ever hurt even one of your fingers, you’d realize just how important every part of the body is in fulfilling your daily activities. No part is too small, no part is inconsequential. That’s the same with the body of Christ. We grow when every joint supplies. You have a part to play in ensuring that the church grows. Don’t shy away from your responsibility.
When your local church needs hands in a particular area, be the first to volunteer. When first timers attend church, make them feel at home. Offer them messages, invite them to bible study, follow them up if need be. The same way, someone laid hands on you to be filled with the spirit is the same way you are needed to lay hands on others to be filled with the spirit.
When you pray, don’t just pray for yourself, you have brothers and sisters in the faith who need your prayers. When you learn something in church, it isn’t for your consumption alone. What about those younger believers that need to be taught? You can’t leave the responsibility to your pastor alone. Are the believers you are responsible for? Who is going spiritually because of you? Supply today; play your part.
