Consistency in Prayer

“Pray without ceasing”

(1Th 5:17).

Just as oxygen is essential for the human body, you must understand that praying without ceasing is non-negotiable for the believer.  Today’s text lets us know that we ought to build the culture of consistency in prayer.

By God’s grace, I pray for long hours. But I’ve realize that “A person who prays 20 minutes twice in a day every day is most likely going to have a more effective and vibrant walk with God than a person who prays one hour once in a week.”

For a lot of believers, their understanding of prayer in the context of ‘grace’ gives them the license to think that they can pray a one-liner and then come back in the next two days or one week- Nothing is farther from the truth. The epistles communicate the necessity to live and stay in the place of prayer. Let’s take a look at some of them.

“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; It says continuing instant in prayer”(Rom 12:12).

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. So, we are to pray always” (Ephesians 6:18b).

Act one God’s word today and begin a culture of consistent prayer.
