Rules in Prayer: Consistency

1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Apostle Paul writing to believers at Thessalonica gives an ingredient that helps builds the culture of Prayer- Consistency. Fellowship with God in the place of prayer is daily bread. A person who prays 20 minutes twice in a day every day is most likely going to have a more effective walk than a person who prays 1 hour once in a week.

For a lot of believers, their understanding of prayer in the context of ‘grace’ gives them the license to think that they can pray a one-liner and then come back in the next two days or one week- Nothing is farther from the truth than that. Scriptures communicates the necessity to live and stay in the place of prayer.

Several scripture reiterates the very same idea. Rom 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Apostle Paul tells the Church in Rome to continue instant in prayer.  The first part of Eph 6:18says Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. By extension, we are instructed to pray always.

Let consistent prayer find expression in and through you today and always!
