“And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.”
In previous articles, we looked at The Word and Vision as means by which we can be directed in the place of prayer. Today, we will be looking at a third called “Supernatural Perception”. Supernatural perception is simply the ability to perceive things via the help of the Spirit.
Many times, perception in itself is not supernatural, it can be influenced by the environment or availability of information or a couple of other factors. However, perception can be supernatural, it can be influenced by the Spirit.
Our opening text tell us about a time when Apostle Paul was being carried away in a boat to Italy with other prisoners. He had perceived and warned about an imminent shipwreck which would have caused loss of goods and of lives.
Supernatural perception is usually followed by the need to do something, sometimes the need to fast and pray, or act on something. In the case of our opening text, Apostle Paul after perceiving about danger went to spend more time praying that clarity may be gained.
Acts 27:21-22 “But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
Initially, Apostle Paul had said that there was going to be a loss of goods, the ship and lives, however after praying he was certain that there would be no loss of life. He had spent time praying, the word LONG ABSTINENCE in Acts 27:21 talks about seclusion in fasting and prayer. Supernatural perception led him to pray!
Do you have a nudge in your spirit about someone or something without precise information? Spend more time in prayer!
Say This: I heed to the ministry of prayer. I have clarity and precision in my Spirit as I pray. I have supernatural perception!
