“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭

Yesterday we looked at the resurrection of Jesus and saw certain things that the resurrection of Jesus initiated in the life of a believer.

Today, we will be looking at the resurrection of Jesus and its ability to birth the church. Our opening scripture is a very popular text of scripture that have often been misconstrued for what is popularly referred to as a ‘warfare prayer’.

However, looking at that scripture contextually we see Jesus talk about the fact that His resurrection was going to birth the church. He was to die as an individual but rise up as the Church. He being the head, we His body!

His resurrection was instrumental to the birth of the church. We are the result of the resurrection!

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭

The corn of wheat falling to the ground was figurative of His death- as a single individual, its bringing much fruit was figurative of His resurrection and the birth of His body- The Church.

This is what we mean when we say Jesus died for us, was buried for us, rose for us and we are sitted with Him in heavenly places. This is why the Holy Ghost could only come after Jesus’ resurrection, The Holy Ghost shed into the heart of man is the result of the resurrection. We are the result of the resurrection. Hallelujah!

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Go out today telling men of Christ’s work and His commitment to the birth of the Church.

Say This: When Jesus rose from the grave, I rose in Him. Via His resurrection, I can walk in the newness of Life!
