“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted”. Matt 5:4
When Adam sinned, not only was the body of man corrupted, all of the earthly creation were. Romans 8:22 says “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now”.
On the other hand, many men have ‘moved on’. We are far too easily pleased. The poverty of the ‘unrecreated’ human spirit is not often discerned.
Jesus tells the Jews, “…the truth shall make you free.” Can you guess their reply? They said, “We … were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?”
They couldn’t discern their condition; their bondage. But the Lord knew it. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. (John 8:32-34)
Only few realize the fact that man’s body is not the way it used to be. The consistent attraction to sin, the sickness and death were never part of the design.
When a man can see the poverty that the fall of man brought, he will mourn for salvation, and be comforted that the answer is found only in Christ Jesus.
Those who mourn for salvation will gladly receive all that Christ has to offer. They shall be comforted!
“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified”
Hallelujah! This scripture speaks of Christ and His work.
DO THIS: Thank God for the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Thank Him for comforting them that mourn for salvation with eternal life through His son.
