“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me”.
1 Corinthians 15:10
God requires us to be diligent. Not only is it important for your personal spiritual growth, it is also essential to your ministry as a Believer.
The purpose of your life is to know Christ and let others know about Him.
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus gave the disciples, and by extension us, the instruction to go into the world and preach the gospel. There were only about 120 of them at that time, yet the word of God spread rapidly across the earth.
It was a work of grace alright, but the grace given to them was not in vain. They laboured!
It is because of their labour that you and I heard the gospel of Jesus. Many of them were greatly inconvenienced for the gospel, even to the point of death.
“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:15
The gospel is as important in our day as it was in theirs. Now, it has been entrusted to you. If it depended solely on you, how many people would heard the gospel?
“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!’
1 Corinthians 9:16
Can you effectively evangelize the world with your current attitude to soul winning? Will the answer be a big ‘NO’ or ‘YES’?
However, our task is beyond evangelism, we have also been called to make disciples. This means that people are depending on you for their spiritual growth. How can you help them grow if you are not growing yourself?
You must improve in your prayer life, in your understanding of God’s word, and in your discipleship of others. God is depending on you.
