“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
One of the miracles of the new man in Christ is the miracle of changed desires. Our desires and taste for the advancement of the kingdom of God supersede everything else.
As believers in Christ, our ambition and main drive should be for the furtherance of the gospel.
But does this mean we can’t have our own dreams and aspirations? No, it simply means our dreams and aspirations, whatever they are, should be Christ-centered.
“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
2 Corinthians 5:15
As long as you are saved, you are indebted to God for life: living to please Him and fulfilling the great commission.
It is God’s will that you disciple nations, bringing them to the accurate knowledge of Christ.
Knowing this therefore, whatever you do, whatever decisions you make, whatever career path you choose, all should be geared at strategically positioning you to reach nations with the gospel.
“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain”
What are your desires again? Make sure they genuinely align with God’s purpose for you, which is to live a Christ-centered life.
