“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.
Our topic today will stem from the understanding of what it means to be born again.
To be born again is to be “…born of the Spirit.” Jesus said “…that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” This is why we do not need to re-enter our mothers’ wombs to be born again. It is our spirit which is reborn, and the spirit does not need a womb to be reborn.
A very crucial question follows: “What about the mind and the body?”. They remain the same. In fact, sinful cravings will still be found lurking in your body, and perhaps corrupt images in your mind.
You have a responsibility. You must ‘renew your mind’ (Romans 12:2) and present your body to God as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1).
The bible says:
“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind”
1 Peter 1:14-15 also says:
“As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation”.
Let your new spirit reprogram your body and mind for righteousness.
Practice renewing your mind today. Spend quality time studying the Bible and meditating on God’s word concerning you.
