MINISTRY AND DILIGENCE

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me”
1 Corinthians 15:10

God requires us to be diligent. Not only is it important for your personal spiritual growth, but it is also essential to your ministry as a Christian. The purpose of your life is to know Christ and to let others know about Christ.

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus gave the disciples, and by extension us, the instruction to go into the world and preach the gospel.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:19-20

There were only about 120 of them at that time, yet the word of God spread rapidly across the earth. It was a work of grace alright, but the grace given to them was not in vain. They laboured!

It is because of their labour that you and I heard the gospel of Jesus. Many of them were greatly inconvenienced for the gospel, even to the point of death. The gospel is as important in our day as it was in theirs.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
2 Corinthians 3:5-6

Now, it has been entrusted to you. If it depends solely on you, how many people would hear the gospel?

You must consistently ask yourself this question “Can I effectively evangelize the world with my current attitude to soul winning?

Take your time to think about the question before answering.

It’s also important to note that our task is beyond evangelism, we have also been called to make disciples. This means that people can depend on you for their spiritual growth. How can you help them grow if you are not growing yourself?

You must improve in your prayer life, in your understanding of God’s word and in your discipleship of others. The body of Christ needs you!

SAY THIS: The grace of God bestowed on me will produce results. I make a commitment to improving in my prayer life, in my understanding of God’s word and in my discipleship of others.
