THE WILL OF GOD IS GOOD HEALTH

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 1:2

In the verse above, we see Apostle John praying that Gaius, his dear friend be in good health and be well in all areas of his life.

That Apostle John prayed for good health means that what he is praying about is consistent with God’s will for all believers.

It is God’s will for you to be healthy. If you think God inflicted you or any of your loved ones with sickness, you are mistaken.

As James 1:17 says, He is the Father of light who gives good and perfect gifts, not evil.

God is the healer, not the one who sends sickness. In fact, 1 John 3:8 says: “For this purpose was the Son of Man manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Why would God use what he came to destroy against you? A perfect explanation of the nature of God can be seen in Jesus’ earthly life and how he treated sickness.

There was no sick person that came to Jesus that he turned back. He healed every one of them.

Acts 10:38 says: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

This tells us a lot about the nature of God. He would never use sickness to ‘correct’ us as some people think or say.

Next time you are tempted to attribute an illness to God, look to Jesus and remember that good health is God’s will for you. Then insist on healing in the place of prayer.
