“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” –
I Corinthians 15:57
Yesterday, we examined how Jesus Christ completely defeated all powers and principalities for our sake. Today, we will see the magnitude of our victory in Him.
After Jesus rose from the grave and displaced the powers of hell, He affirmed His supremacy to His disciples this way.
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
Make no mistake about this, all power belongs to Christ. Even better, all power belongs to you because you are a man in Christ.
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” I John 5:4
In Revelations 1:5-6, John captures the essence of what Christ did for us. He is the first begotten from the dead and in Him we all have passed from death to life.
Additionally, we live as kings and priests unto God who reigns and rules forever. This is beautiful!
“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Revelations 1:5-6
The song “I See Jesus” by Outburst Music Group is so full of revelation in this light. Christ is seated on the throne and all things are under his feet (Hebrews 2:8). Our debts have been paid and we seated in Him forever. Herein lies our victory.
Let’s consider one more verse:
“But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” Hebrews 1:8
Undoubtedly, Christ is seated on the throne, far above all authorities. (Ephesians 1:20) He can never be dethroned or demoted; His reign is forever. And because we are seated in him, we reign forever.
Friends, we operate from a standpoint of eternal victory. No scheme of the enemy can undo this. Hallelujah!
