“In fact, all those who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” – 2 Timothy 3:12 HCSB
Risk is a necessary aspect of effective living. A life void of risk will not be effective. Also, taking risk becomes worth it when it brings out the best in us.
You may want to be careful in some circumstances but it’s not worth it when there’s a lot to gain. In your Christian walk, you will find that taking risk is worth it especially when it comes to the preaching of the gospel.
If you don’t preach, many will perish! How can you be complacent with the preaching of the Gospel when you’ve gained a lot by believing in it?
Colossians 1:13-14 HCSB says, “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves. We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Him.”
How can we deny others this opportunity by keeping silent?
What premium have you placed on the gospel? Do you really believe in the concept of eternal life? If you do, you would take any legitimate risk for the gospel.
The Apostles did. After being apprehended and punished by the authorities, they still went ahead to preach all over again. (Acts 5:41-42). Many of them did so until their very last breath was taken from them.
Dear believer, you’re not as scared as you think. The things you’ve shied away from are as a result of your assessment of their value. Since the gospel is so valuable (Romans 1:16-17), then you must be willing to take risks for its propagation.
The Apostles and disciples didn’t have nine lives. They have the same life as you do – eternal life. Let the people who don’t have eternal life be careful. Not you. You’re not as scared as you think.
