Then He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. – Mark 16:15 HCSB

The Great Commission is a global mandate to make disciples of all nations. It must be preached to the whole world with love.

Love is a vital part of evangelism. It is so important that without it, every other Christian devotion is a waste.

1 Corinthians 13:1‭-‬2 HCSB says, “If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am NOTHING.”

Wow! If we read the rest of this chapter, prioritising love above all things will be glaring to us. This goes to show us that our motive is as important as our actions in the eyes of God.

In terms of evangelism, love should be viewed as an act towards the unsaved as well as the saved.

It should show in our pursuit for the lives of the unsaved. John 3:16 NKJV says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

As terrible as sin is, God loves the sinner and He expects us to do the same. We should despise the sin and not the sinner.

Therefore, “let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”
(Colossians 4:6 NKJV)

With regards to our fellow believers, it should not matter whether we belong to the same local church or not, we must love one another.

If the church of Jesus Christ will gain global dominance, we must be united as one. We must not be individualistic in our mindsets in the preaching of the gospel.

Jesus prayed thus for the church before He laid down His life: “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” – John 17:22‭-‬23 NKJV

Let this be the mindset of the church as we preach the Gospel. We are one in Christ!
