“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 1:2
God is not just concerned about the spiritual aspect of our lives. He is not a one-sided God. As His bona fide child, you should remain assured that He cares about the natural areas of your life as well.
Through the pages of Scripture, we find God taking deliberate steps to ensure that His children were comfortable in every regard.
For instance, we see vividly from the story of the Israelites how God liberated them physically, economically and politically from Egypt. Then, He led them on a victorious march to a sovereign territory and provided for all their need during their 40-year journey in the wilderness.
The Bible records that He fed them with manna (Exodus 16:15-35), quail (Exodus 16:13), and water from a rock (Exodus 17:6). He also kept them in good health and and preserved their clothings (Deuteronomy 29:5).
In Mark 6:38-44, we equally see Jesus perform a miracle of multiplication. After feeding about 5,000 men with the word, He ensured they all ate to their full.
The NLT rendition of our anchor scripture goes thus: “Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.”
Isn’t this interesting? Imagine God actually asking, “Is all well with you?” Before you even reply, He already knows and is abundantly able to enrich you.
Let’s consider one more scripture.
“And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19, AMPV)
This is why it baffles me when people try to separate their spiritual lives from the other aspects. You are one and the same person and God is really interested about everything connected to you.
Summarily, the same God who strengthens you spiritually and empowers you to do exploits in His name, also wants to see you flourish in your career, business, finances, health and relationships.
Don’t limit the expression of God in your life. He wants you to prosper in every way. You can bank on him.
