LEADING AND TRUST
“For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh” – Philippians 3:3
Have you ever pondered over your future, done research, made the right moves at the right time, and had everything fall into pieces?
Who would have imagined that a pandemic in 2020 will throw so many things off course?
All these show that you cannot plan your life solely on human wisdom or expectations. There will always be events and people that you do not have control over. However, you can know what to do at the right time. Also, it is possible for things that look uncertain to work for you. All these are possible by the leading of the Spirit.
Imagine if you lived in Elisha’s day. There is a famine ravaging the land and people are doing the unthinkable just to live another day. A prophet comes up to the King and says that food will be sold for really cheap the next day. (2 Kings 7)
Like the soldier that stood beside the King, I am sure you might scoff and laugh. But God did it! It was as the Prophet said. Sarah also laughed but God fulfilled that promise too.
Things that seem illogical or impossible to man are possible with God. In the same vein, somethings look viable to us based on past experience and we pursue them only to have them fall apart.
Your actions should not depend on how you have assessed the situation to be below or beyond your capacity.
This goes to say that your safest bet in life is to trust the leading of God.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
For that impossible situation, declare today ‘not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit of God’. It is possible and it is done by the Spirit of God. (Zechariah 4:6)
