“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.
Acts 1:8 KJV

Stop and think about today’s text. Jesus was not advising us to try to ensure that signs follow us. He is assuring us, as a statement of fact, that they will.

The man in Christ is marked by signs and wonders.

As a fulfilment of this prophecy, as soon as the Holy Ghost came on the disciples, their cover was blown!

They could no longer hide in the upper room where they had been because the attention of a multitude was drawn to them as they spoke in tongues.

The words of Jesus are clear: “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 KJV

He says there is no hiding place for us. How can there be, when the casting of your mere shadow on the sick heals them? (Acts 5: 15).

The Lord says, “These signs SHALL follow them that believe…” (Mark 16:17 KJV). That’s not a prayer point. It is a promise. Believe it!

As you proclaim the message of Christ, in your offices, schools, etc, the Lord will work with you, confirming your words with signs following (Mark 16: 20).

Go out today and watch God work in, with and through you.

As I preach the gospel today, signs follow me. I cast out devils, and I heal the sick, by the power of God at work in me. I am equipped for the work. Hallelujah!
