“Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.” -Luke 2:10 NKJV

Joy is one of the miracles of salvation. God looks at His redemptive work and rejoices.

“The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”- ‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Much more, salvation should stir up joy in every believer. For a carnal man, joy is circumstantial. But for the man in Christ, joy is a fruit of his spirit. We have received good news!

God became a man! He identified with us, so we could find our identity in Him. The revelation of who we are is found in the revelation of Christ. That should stir up joy in us.

The year might have brought good things or not yet we must trust God for everything and rejoice in everything. In doing this, remembrance is crucial.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is the secret – to focus on what He has said to us and about us. To always keep them in view and meditate on them. Rejoice right now! God has spoken! Say amen and rejoice!

When good news comes, the response is joy! Think of times you heard that your favorite team won a championship, your rejoicing was not scripted. It flowed naturally. We have received the best news of all. The gospel is good news to the world. How do you think we should rejoice?

Prophecies have gone forth for us in the new year, it’s another thing to rejoice over. So today, be joyful and spread good cheer. You have something to rejoice about! God became flesh for you!

Merry Christmas!
