“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

The above anchor scripture is mostly used for teaching about meditation. However, it intrinsically points to the fact that the remembrance of the word of God is so important for our success in life.

In a world filled with many voices, remembering the word of God is paramount, else one might believe a lie not only about life but also about himself/herself.

Therefore, no matter the popularity of a thought, if the word says otherwise, it should be dropped. Every thought should be brought “into captivity to the obedience of Christ”. (II Corinthians 10:4-5)

At church, we are taught the word so that we can retain it in our memories and do/use it when required. The truth is that there will always be times when we need to use the word in our daily lives. We must endeavour not to forget it.

James 1:22 (NKJV) says “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” It gives us a clue on how to remember the word – by doing it.

If you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have a clue as to the steps to take, recollect the word and believe. The Bible gives examples on how God led both his children and pagans alike. How much more you?

If God can lead Abimelech (Genesis 20) and Pharaoh (Genesis 41), won’t He lead you? If the word tells you to cast all your cares on God, won’t you do so? (1 Peter 4:7) If Jesus said the Holy Spirit will help you in all your ways, won’t you believe Him? (John 14:16-17, 16:13-14)

Dear child of God, your Heavenly Father knows life will be filled with its ups and downs, that’s why He gave you 66 books (also known as the Bible) to prepare and reassure you of His love and guidance.

It will do you a lot of good to remember what the Bible say concerning you in every circumstance. By the grace of God, after studying it, you will recognize that God is good, He loves you and wants you to cast all your cares on Him.
