“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” – James 1:22-24 KJV

The theme scripture in today’s text reveals salient details about what it means to be a doer of the word.

Today, we’ll be discussing along the lines of being a doer of the word. What does it really mean to be a doer of the word?

Verse 23 and 24 of James Chapter 1 reveals to us that a doer of the word is and will be a person who retains in his or her consciousness all that’s been seen in the mirror; the word of God.

For instance, on Sunday, we did a recap of the teachings of the year. It will do us some good to retain them in our consciousness.

The active expression of obeying an instruction is only made possible when that instruction itself has been retained. By so doing, acting on the word will not be a problem at all.

James 1:25 KJV says “But whosoever looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

Let see one more scripture on the subject matter:

“For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 1:8 KJV

Retain the word in your consciousness today; be a doer of the word. Just do it!
