“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” – Mark‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭NKJV

At first glance, the whole idea seems preposterous. How can you limit God?! That’s an oxymoron – He is All Powerful. Yet, do you know that as limitless as God is, the things He can do in your life are to a large extent limited to what you agree to?

It is a testament to the sovereignty of God that man has free will. We see that even His power to save is embedded in the gospel and the decision of men to believe in it (Romans 1:16).

We see through the Bible, the great lengths that God went to convince people to believe in His plans and allow Him to make a name for Himself with their lives.

There are countless examples of the stubbornness of the Israelites and how easily they forgot the goodness of God.

David describes it this way:

“How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert! Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel.” – Psalms 78:40 NKJV
Gideon came up with many signs to test whether or not God was sending him and God fulfilled them all (Judges 6:14-22,36-40). For Moses, it took different signs with his hand and his staff to convince him to go speak to Pharaoh and the Israelites (Exodus 4:1-17).

There are many more examples of God’s efforts to show signs to His people and convince them of His power. Looking at the examples of Moses, Gideon and the Israelites above, you can identify with the weaknesses and insecurities of the heroes of faith.

God has a track record of using ordinary people to achieve extra ordinary, supernatural things. That should bolster your faith. Do not let your fears and insecurities be the reason for not living out God’s plans for your life.

Let’s consider one last example. Think of how the gospel was committed into the hands of ordinary young fishermen (Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8). Because of them, the gospel was preached all around the world in their day. If He could accomplish so much with ordinary fishermen, He can accomplish much more in your life.

Today, remind yourself of the prophecies God has given you. Be rest assured, God is able to bring to pass. Cooperate with Him. He is limitless and so are you!
