“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:21‭-‬22 NKJV

A mountain is something immovable. Figuratively speaking, it is a challenge, obstacle or situation that seems insurmountable. However, once removed, leveled or cast into the sea, it’s not seen anymore. It becomes non-existent.

Everyone faces mountains at one time or the other in their lives. The question is when you do, will you cower in fear or get it removed? You will get it removed, of course! This is the approach of a child of God.

How do we know this? Jesus talked about mountains. He said faith moves mountains. This means mountains can be moved! Look at how he puts it:

“… if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will SAY TO THIS MOUNTAIN, ‘MOVE from here to there,’ and IT WILL MOVE; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20 NKJV

The anchor text is also instructive in this light. In fact, these two texts affirm what Apostle Paul wrote in I Corinthians 13:2:

“…though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
I Corinthians 13:2 NKJV

Although speaking in a negative sense, he attests to his ability to remove mountains by faith. He shows us that, through faith, mountains can be removed. This ability is not only in his reserve, it is for every child of God.

Do you have any mountains looming before you? Do not cower in fear, remove and cast them into the sea. Remember, you are a faith being, not only so, you operate with the God-kind of faith. Use it!

Speak to the mountain, and by the power of God at work in you, it shall be removed! Do not worry about how it will happen, just believe and speak. God will get the job done. He always does.
