“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world”.
Titus 2:11-12

Many people challenge the grace message because they feel it is a license to sin. The truth, however, is that grace empowers you to live above sin.

By the grace of God, the sacrifice of Jesus took away our sins. By that same grace, the Holy Spirit lives in us, empowering us to live above sin.

The grace of our Lord Jesus is so powerful that it washes away our sin. But it goes beyond that; it not only reminds you that you are forgiven but has the power, the ability to wash you up and empower you to live above sin.

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
Romans 8:11-13

You are no longer a slave to the flesh because the Holy Spirit is working in you to desire things that are consistent with the will of God.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”
Romans 8:14

See what the bible says about you in Romans 8:2-3: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh”

The Holy Spirit enables you to choose righteousness over sin whenever you are tempted. Christianity is a miracle of changed desires; when you are saved, your desires are directed God-ward.

SAY THIS: I’m not a slave to sin. I’m a child of God. The Spirit of Christ lives in me and enables me to live righteously.
