“The hope of the righteous will be gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Have you ever suffered disappointment and found yourself closing your heart to the hope of ever seeing your expectations come to pass?

In the same light, without realising it some people limit the extent to which they believe God. They believe that God can heal but when it comes to expecting that God will actually perform a miracle in their lives, they hold back. They have allowed experience to change their convictions.

Yet, our faith shines best when it is tried – when things seem to be delayed or when we have suffered disappointment in the past. Just look at the faith of the woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:20-22 and Luke 8:40-48.

She had lived with the affliction for years and had tried her best to find a cure. She could have just stayed back and gotten used to her life. She could have learnt to live with the pain and discomfort of her ailment but she decided instead to show great faith and believed against all odds that Jesus could heal her. This is an example to emulate.

God has given His word that He is able and willing to heal us(Psalm 103:3, I Pet 2:24, Matthew 8:3). Open up your heart to the promise of God to do the miraculous in you and through you.

Examine what you truly believe through the lens of your expectations. Know that you can bank on God’s word and His promise to heal. Will you trust Him enough to open up and have an expectation of healing?

Don’t settle for theories and theologies to explain away your disappointment. Believe God and expect Him to do what He said is true about your life and destiny.

Guess what? He doesn’t only say that you are healed, He has made a healer out of you.

Do you believe it? Yes? Then these signs shall follow you! You shall lay your hands on the sick and they shall recover (Mark 16:15-18).

God’s word is ever true. Don’t settle for the lies of doubt and complacency.
