“But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have work.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith from my works.”
James 2:18 HCSB

Welcome to Bible Reading Plan Recap – that time we do a quick summary of what we read in the Bible this week. It’s the 41st week of our daily Bible reading plan.

This week we read from James 5-6, John 4-5:16-30, I Peter 1-2:1-8, Songs of Songs 1, and Jeremiah 26-46.

In Jeremiah 26-46, we read about the events leading up to the fall of Jerusalem alongside Jeremiah’s ordeal through it all.

We also rounded off the book of Ecclesiastes this week. After all has been said and done about the vanities of life, the book concludes with a salient advice:

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13‭-‬14 NKJV

After this, we began reading from Songs of Songs 1. This book is attributed to Solomon. It is a collection of love poems about a couple in love. We have read chapter 1 so far.

We also concluded the book of James, where we read the famous verses about praying such as:

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.”
James 5:16‭-‬17 NKJV

Hopefully, these verses reminded us to pray fervently.

In John 4-5:16-30, we read about Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, the healing of the nobleman servant and the man at the Pool of Bethesda.

Another book we began reading this week is I Peter. It is a letter by Apostle Peter to the Jew and Gentile Christians dispersed across several nations. It seeks to encourage them as they suffered for their faith. So far we’ve read from I Peter 1-2:1-8.

And that’s all we read in our Bible reading plan this week, family. Have a beautiful weekend.
